The Fayette County Public Library announces the Aug. 9 kickoff of the 2012 Fayette on the Page countywide reading event. This year’s book is “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter,” by Georgia’s own Carson McCullers. The kickoff party will be a festive evening affair featuring the big band sounds of Jerry Murphy and The Southernaires, and the public is invited. Other Fayette on the Page 2012 activities include a film series in August and September, a book discussion group in September, and a theatrical finale scheduled for October 11. Beginning Aug. 9 through Sept. 13, Dance Lessons in the Nightclub Two Step, which is the perfect dance to use for slow love songs when dancing on a crowded floor, at a high school reunion, on a cruise or any social event that has dancing. The Nightclub Two Step has very pretty steps and movement and will be taught from the ground-up which gives the student confidence on the dance floor, and individual attention to students is given, when needed.
