James “Harold” Horne, was born March 8, 1933 in Enterprise, Alabama, and passed away August 28, 2012. He graduated from Auburn University in 1955. He was a proud veteran and served his Country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Gold Kist, Inc. in 1997. Mr. Horne was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church in Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Willie Merle Horne; and an infant brother.
He is survived by his wife Brenda M. Horne of Fayetteville; four daughters Sabrina Kennedy (Richard) of Lebanon, Tenn., Tina Register (Jamie) of Cordele, Ga., Wendy Warren (James) of Huntsville, Ala. and Amy Dubose (Jeff) of Fayetteville, Ga.; one brother Bill Horne (Linda) of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; a great-grandson due September 9; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mr. Horne will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, Hampton with Pastor Chris Drinnon. Burial for Mr. Horne will be Monday, September 3, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
