Robert Lloyd “Sam” Brinker, 87, of Peachtree City, passed away August 28, 2012. He was born in Jeannette, Pa. on December 24, 1924 to Paul Brinker & Emma Lane Brinker. Sam was proud to be a World War II Marine Veteran serving as a Corporal with tours in Okinawa and Iwo Jima. Later he became a salesman for General Tire Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents & sisters Elsie Brinker & Jane Sanner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Brinker of Peachtree City; daughters, Judy Taylor & husband Robert of Adairsville, Sue Vandiver & husband Ronnie of Sharpsburg; sons Gary Brinker & wife Karen of N. Huntingdon, Pa., Robert Brinker & wife Vicki of Cumming, Bruce Brinker & wife Sheryl of Jeannette, Pa., Jeffrey Brinker & wife Trudy of N. Huntingdon, Pa. along with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, August 31, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Peachtree City Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son with Rev. Chris Perkins officiating. Burial followed at Westminster Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family received friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
