The Fayette Chamber’s Community Expo lived up to its reputation as the largest tradeshow in the county with a record attendance of well over 2000 people. Over 130 exhibitors participated in the Expo this year representing a wide variety of businesses and organizations. “The Expo is a win-win for exhibitors and our community,” declares Chamber President & CEO Virginia Gibbs. “Bringing business and community together is what the chamber is all about…and the Expo is a great way to spotlight our local businesses as well as allow the community to find products & services they need without leaving the county.”

The Expo brought out scores of volunteers from many different organizations to take part in the day. Included in the volunteers were students from Grace Christian Academy who handled the load-in and load-out process with ease. Other volunteers drove golf carts, worked the water station, counted attendees, placed signage, and helped with a multitude of other tasks. The chamber thanks all the wonderful people who served with a smile!

Representatives from Presenting Sponsor Delta Community Credit Union welcomed visitors as they strolled past exhibitors’ booths stopping to interact and taste the delicious food samples provided by local vendors. In addition to the exhibits, the Expo featured business and community resources, health screenings, flu shots, a bloodmobile and much more.

A popular feature of the Expo, the Platinum Plate Competition, provided added value for food exhibitors through extensive exposure in pre and post-event publicity. This year’s winners are Sister’s Sweet Creations in the Sweets Category and Majestic Cuisine in the Small Bites Category. Other participating food vendors included Great American Cookie & Pretzel Co., Something Delightful Bakery Café, TCBY, Panera Bread and Shane’s Rib Shack.

Sponsors for this year’s Expo included Humana; The Southern Federal Credit Union; Coweta-Fayette EMC; Comcast; Canongate; Capital Investment Companies; 92.5 The Bear; Fayette County News; Minuteman Press, PTC; Studio 25 Productions and the Fayette County Development Authority.
