McIntosh PTSO Volunteers Honored

2012-09-26

As the McIntosh High School Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) begins the new school year, departing volunteers were recognized for their numerous years of dedication and service.

Pictured above (left to right) is the immediate past PTSO president Beth Austin, presenting the Outstanding PTSO Volunteer of the Year Award to Shawn Yeatman (in middle) who served as the School Store Purchasing Chair for three years. Shawn worked tirelessly to ensure the store was always fully stocked with items the students wanted and she spent numerous hours shopping, loading, delivering, restocking and selling.

Thanks to her efforts, the School Store was the PTSO's biggest fundraiser all three of the years Shawn handled purchasing. On Shawn's right is the award's new namesake, Cele Eifert.

The executive board voted to rename the award in her honor - it is now officially the Cele Eifert Outstanding PTSO Volunteer of the Year Award - in recognition of the countless hours Cele devoted to the MHS PTSO, including serving four years as president and one year as secretary.
