It was Homecoming week for the Whitewater Wildcats and they were looking for a fourth straight win, as they went head to head against a struggling Forest Park Panthers team. The Cats had a dominant performance on offense and defense to win 48-7 against the Panthers.
The Wildcats offense had an all star performance all night against the Panthers defense. Kendall Conley was again able to dominate in the running game with four touchdowns. All four of Conley's scores came in the first quarter and in the end he racked up a total of 109 yards.
When Coach McCreary was asked how Kendall did Friday night he said “he worked extremely hard and had great success in the game.”
Christian Wafford was also a contributor for the running game with two touchdowns and a total of 75 yards.
The passing game for the Cats was a factor when needed, completing passes to Trevor Morgan and Jake Carlson. With the score being so one sided Whitewater was able to put in the young guys on offense that led to a touchdown pass from sophomore Nick Fink to Wyatt Burke.
In the end the Panthers could never stop the Wildcat offense.
Forest Park tried to get back in the game, but, like the Wildcat offense, the defense was unstoppable. The game started for the Wildcats defense with a three and out for Forest Park that would start an amazing showing on defense for the Cats.
Defense for the Cats was led by Dylan Davis at defensive end who was able to cause havoc in the Panther backfield. The defense was also led by linebacker Joey Renta, who was involved in multiple tackles, and by Alex Neal who had a one interception before the half.
For most of the night the Forest Park Panthers were three and out on offense, but late in the fourth quarter they were able to score which threw out the shutout for the Wildcats.
The special teams for the Cats also played a major role in the game with a blocked punt by Clay Chapman that led to a touchdown by Kendall Conley. Also, Josh Alexander was able to have a good night returning the punts that would lead to multiple scores for the Wildcat Offense.
So in the end Forest Park could never quite match up with the Wildcats, who had a great showing in all three phases of the game. After the game when Coach McCreary was asked how the Wildcats did he said “everything they wanted to do they were able to do and it was a great night for the Cats.”
With this win in the books the Whitewater Wildcats are now 4-1 and now move on to take on the Northgate Vikings. |
