On October 3, 2012, the Lord called home a special angel, Daniel Drury “Dan” Ayers, age 46, of Meansville. Dan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Dan enjoyed traveling, riding trains, music, and going to Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he loved to sing for his Lord.
Dan is survived by his parents: Arlie and Shirley Ayers of Meansville. Dan was born while Shirley and Arlie lived in Fayette County and were members of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. The family moved to Meansville when Dan was seven years old.
Dan is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Jeffrey Ayers of Newnan, Clay and Mary Ayers of Cartersville, and John and Laverne Ayers of Temple; sister: Vicki Champion of Dallas; special Aunts: Elaine Wright of Sharpsburg and Charlene Case of Fayetteville; numerous nephews and a host of other loving relatives who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Bud Gleaton, Rev. Gary Hately, and Rev. Mike Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens in Zebulon. Friends visited the family on Friday, October 5, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the music ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5015 US Highway 19, Zebulon, GA 30295.
