Conversations about the end of life can be difficult, and the tasks and decisions can seem insurmountable. However, just as one plans for other life events such as births, graduations, and retirement, end-of-life planning should take place before a crisis occurs.
Fayette Senior Services (FSS) and Piedmont Fayette Hospital's Sixty Plus Older Adult Services will co-host a highly informative workshop and panel discussion designed to help individuals and families be prepared for end-of-life care and planning. The program addresses simple tasks to complex issues in the decision-making process.
"The heart wrenching choices that families face when they are unprepared to make difficult decisions during a crisis can be eased by simple preparedness," said James Taylor, chaplain at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. "It's not just important to know what to do, but who to involve in the process."
A distinguished panel of speakers including Piedmont Fayette's Chaplain James Taylor, Attorney Elizabeth Winfield as well as representatives from Home Instead Senior Care, Hospice Advantage and Mowell Funeral Home will share their experiences and essential information to help guide families.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at Fayette Senior Services Life Enrichment Center located at 4 Center Drive, Fayetteville (across from the Fayette County Justice Center). The event is free but advance registration is required. Call 770-461-0813 to register.
The community partnership between FSS and Piedmont Fayette's Sixty Plus Older Adult Services serves to enhance the well-being of older adults and their families.
