Lake Peachtree Cleanup – Volunteers Welcome! Join Rivers Alive, the City of Peachtree City, and Keep Peachtree City Beautiful to clean up Lake Peachtree on Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Battery Way docks for registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please carpool or golf-cart-pool, and wear boots or sneakers and bring work or rubber gloves, water, sunscreen, and litter “grabbers” or kitchen tongs. Kids and teens (5-17 years) must be accompanied by an adult, and waivers will need to be signed at the registration table. Dancing With the Chiefettes on Nov. 13, from 7 – 9 p.m., at the McIntosh High School auditorium. The State Champion Chiefettes pair up with other McIntosh athletes and teach, then perform, a dance routine, similar to the popular television show, Dancing with the Stars. Admission is $5, and all proceeds will benefit the McIntosh Chiefettes as they prepare to compete in UDA Nationals in February, where they are the only nationally ranked team from the state of Georgia.

Dementia Caregiver Support Group - The Sixty Plus Program at Piedmont Fayette Hospital offers a monthly support group for the caregivers of older adults with memory loss. Designed to be both informational and supportive, the group will provide a confidential and welcoming atmosphere for family members and friends who want to learn more about dementia. The emotional, medical, legal and financial aspects of this condition will be discussed at meetings. The group is facilitated by a licensed social worker and is open to anyone in the community. Co-sponsored by Sixty Plus Older Adult Services and the Alzheimer’s Association.
