Sixth Annual Chair-ity Event to Help Kids in Need

2012-11-09

The 6th Annual Children’s Chair-ity Event will take place on Thursday, December 6th at the Dolce in Peachtree City from 5:30-7:30pm. This holiday event, hosted by community leaders, benefits the abandoned, abused, and neglected children who live in the cottages at The Children’s Village at Christian City. It will be a spectacular event with delicious food, refreshments, music, and holiday cheer.

This unique event features a Santa’s Workshop Silent Auction where you can purchase chairs hand-painted by local artists, which are currently on display at the Fayetteville Library, as well as a wide range of items donated by local businesses. Just some of these great items include a weekend stay at Hilton Head Island, great jewelry like a Pandora bracelet, themed gift baskets, and tickets to the Atlanta Ballet’s Presentation of the Nutcracker! You can feel good about Christmas shopping when it all benefits the abandoned and abused children at The Children’s Village. Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased online at www.christiancity.org or by calling 770-703-2636.  You will not want to miss this truly festive holiday event!

For the past 47 years, The Children’s Village has been ‘home’ to over 1,500 children in need. They minister to those who are dealing with life crisis, such as the death of a parent, divorce, or sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.

These special children are given a safe place to live, a warm bed, clean clothes, a good education, and the unconditional love of Christian house parents. Christian City’s family environment allows children to have access to a traditional family unit and support systems to help mend their broken hearts. The funding to provide this care is raised through individuals, civic groups, the faith community, local businesses and corporations like those who sponsor the Annual Children’s "Chair-ity" Event.

Chairs will be on display at the Fayetteville Library.
