The Peachtree Job Fair will be held on Nov. 14, at the Country Inn and Suites Hotel, at 7815 Senoia Road (Highway 74) in Fairburn, (Atlanta metro area) from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be recruiters in attendance with all types of readily available jobs from major corporations, well-established businesses and government agencies, such as UPS and U.S. Department of Labor and many others. Piedmont Fayette Hospital's Sixty Plus Older Adult Services and Fayette Senior Services are co-hosting a dynamic educational program designed to help individuals with diabetes overcome dietary challenges during the holidays. Expert, Ellen Wright, RN, BSN, CDE, from Piedmont Fayette Hospital will offer great healthy tips on how to better manage and enjoy holiday parties, family gatherings and workplace luncheons. The program will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. to Noon at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, 1279 Building, 3rd Floor Conference Room. The event is free but pre-registration is required. Fayette Senior Services’ Project Love is a fundraising campaign that provides holiday meals via Meals On Wheels to homebound seniors. Without these funds, there will be homebound seniors in Fayette County who have nothing to eat on Thanksgiving and Christmas. For as little as $10, two meals can be provided for a senior. There is no limit to the number of meals that can be purchased, and general donations are welcomed. Donation forms can be found at www.fayss.org (online donations accepted) and at Fayette Senior Services Life Enrichment Center, 4 Center Drive in Fayetteville. Checks should be made payable to Fayette Senior Services. Credit cards accepted. Dixie Wing Bingo on Thursdays, at 7 p.m., at the Commemorative Air Force - Dixie Wing Hangar at Atlanta Regional Airport - Falcon Field, 1200 Echo Court in Peachtree City. Snack Bar and prizes. The public is invited.

Starr’s Mill Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be hosting and leading the 2012 Fields of Faith for Fayette County. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Panther Stadium on the Starr’s Mill High School Campus. This will be the first Fields of Faith event in Fayette County. While many Christian rallies are anchored to an entertainer or professional speaker that creates a spectator event, Fields of Faith is structured as a student-to-student ministry. Peers invite their own classmates and teammates to meet on their school’s athletic field in their community to hear fellow students share their testimonies, challenge them to read the Bible, come to faith in Jesus Christ, and have a positive impact on their school’s campus. Second Chance Thrift Shop is now open on Thursdays, as well as Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Located in a 100 year old house (151 McIntosh Road, Brooks, just 10 minutes east of Starr's Mill High School.  The shop's huge, annual Clearance Sale is coming up on Nov. 16 and 17 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Clearance Sale will be held at Brooks United Methodist Church (119 Morgan Mill Road, Brooks.  Furniture and other quality items at rock bottom prices...you won't want to miss it!  Saturday will also offer a Bake sale and a BBQ Sale. Nearly 100% of the proceeds go to local and international missions.

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights – the city’s newest holiday tradition – transforms the Atlanta Botanical Garden into a giant magical kaleidoscope Nov. 17 - Jan. 5, with more colors, more displays, and a cast of characters to boot. The light show extravaganza, which debuted in 2011, returns with more than 1.5 million energy-efficient lights that blanket the Garden’s 30 acres each evening from 5 -10 in a rainbow of shimmering color and dozens of new attractions. The annual Ladies Christmas Potpourri of Woolsey Baptist Church is slated for Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. This year's Theme is: Simply God. Tickets are: $10 and will be available soon from a table hostess or by calling the church office at (770) 461- 9618. The Ladies Christmas Potpourri is sponsored by Legacy, the Ladies Ministry of the church. Woolsey Baptist Church is located at 115 Hampton Road in Fayetteville.

Senoia Area Historical Society will sponsor its Annual Auction on Nov. 17 at the headquarter house, 6 Couch Street, Senoia. The preview of items will begin at 6:30 p.m., along with a menu of heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments with an admission donation of $10. The auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. with professional auctioneer Ray Grammar leading us through an evening of fun and surprises. Join us to support the society's efforts to preserve our town's history and heritage. Senoia Area Historical Society is a 501c(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.

MetroSounds Movement LIVE! is coming Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. at the Harvest Christian Community Center, 383 Fayette Place Plaza (383 Glynn St, N), Fayetteville.  The Movement will feature artists played on the MetroSounds Radio Show on Atlanta's 1010 Radio (weekdays from 7-8 a.m).  Artists performing are: Gods Gurls, True Witness, Pamela Johnson, Linda Agosto, Daya Lorin & Ifeanyi. A Company of Friends Productions invites performers from 7 to 18 years to join them under the sea for an educational and fun workshop designed to help those wishing to get a jump-start on ACOF's next audition, Disney's Little Mermaid, Jr. Workshop will be held on Monday, Nov. 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and the fee is $40, with a 10% discount for siblings who register together. Dementia Caregiver Support Group - The Sixty Plus Program at Piedmont Fayette Hospital offers a monthly support group for the caregivers of older adults with memory loss. Designed to be both informational and supportive, the group will provide a confidential and welcoming atmosphere for family members and friends who want to learn more about dementia. The emotional, medical, legal and financial aspects of this condition will be discussed at meetings. The group is facilitated by a licensed social worker and is open to anyone in the community. Co-sponsored by Sixty Plus Older Adult Services and the Alzheimer’s Association. The group meets the Third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Piedmont Fayette Hospital, West entrance, 1267 Building Cancer Wellness Center, third floor. Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break by Kelly Minter is a 7-session Bible study for women. Please join Toys for Tots and Santa in collecting toys for children who are less fortunate. The Gaddy Family will host the 6th annual Toys for Tots drive at their annual Christmas Light Display at 898 Sandy Creek Road. The toy drive will be held on Nov. 30 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Representatives from Toys for Tots will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Bring your family and start the holiday season by sharing with others. Each child visiting the display on Nov. 30 will receive a small “Thank you” gift from Santa. The Gaddys look forward to seeing you! For those who can’t participate on that night, but would like to donate a toy, a drop box will be available beginning on Thanksgiving night until Dec. 20.
