Whitewater blows away Ola 42-14 for region crown |

(Staff Photo by C The Whitewater Wildcats football team took care of business in their final regular season contest with a decisive home victory against Ola by a final score of 42-14.
Fayette County Super 12-er Kendall Conley ran wild in the game as he amassed over 100 yards rushing and two touchdowns all before halftime. He would finish with 225 yards and four touchdowns on just 18 carries.
Another rushing touchdown from Christian Wafford helped the Wildcats take a 21-0 lead into halftime. Wafford would pick up 72 yards and one score on 13 carries for the night.
The Wildcats defense was a beast in this game as it did not allow Ola any red zone opportunities the entire first half.
After Ola scored on a long passing play early in the third, Conley responded for Whitewater by breaking free for 35 yards en route to his third TD of the game, which put the Wildcats up 28-7 with 7:39 remaining in the quarter.
Jared Vincent added a touchdown on an interception return for the Wildcats as they coasted to victory.
Jay Ashley completed five of ten passes for 86 yards and a score for the evening. Jake Carlson led the Wildcat receivers with three catches for 50 yards.
The Wildcats finished the regular season with only one loss coming in their opening game as they went 9-0 the rest of the way.
The Wildcats also ended the regular season as sub-region champion of the 4B-AAAAA after finishing with a perfect 5-0 record in the division.
They will host Lee County in the opening round of the playoffs. |
