Mrs. Sara Starr Miller, 82 of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning after an extended illness.

Mrs. Miller was born in Fayetteville, where she lived all of her life; she was a Registrar with the Fayette County High School, where she retired after 20 years. She was an amazing cook, with quite the sweet tooth. She always put others before herself, always taking care of others needs before her own.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lennis Starr and her son Kenneth Rodney Miller.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 62 years Mr. Harold E. Miller; son Doug (Nina) Miller; two daughters: Lyn (Phil) Miller- Bergen and Jeanie (Ricky) Ponder. Six grandchildren: Michelle Alina Miller, Melanie Morgan (Paul) Adams, Brandon Lee (Ashley) Ponder, Benjamin Kyle Ponder, Peter Elias Bergen and Lars Zachary Bergen; two great-grandchildren Paige and Colt Ponder; and one sister Mary Lennis Austin.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted on Saturday November 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Dr. Aaron Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 - 7 p.m.
