Bring your pets and/or children to the Peachtree City PetSmart to have their picture taken with Santa. The cost (with a PetSmart perks card) is $9.95 per photo. PetSmart will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Fayette County Humane Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer animal rescue organization. The United Methodist Men of Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites the families in the community to bring their children from toddlers up to fifth graders to celebrate a “Birthday Party for Jesus” on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. Activities include singing, face painting, crafts, refreshments and a special visit from The North Pole. The event will serve as a collection place for Toys for Tots; please bring a new, unwrapped toy as a donation. Admission is free. The Friends of the Peachtree City Library will host a family holiday program of stories and music on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1:30 p.m. The 90-minute program will be presented by premier storyteller Josie Bailey. Ms. Bailey has appeared at the library many times in the past as a presenter of children’s programs and as a performer with Jim Scott’s “3-D Readers.” She is the publisher of inspirational and educational books and CDs, including “Hip Hop Math” with Brer Rabbit. Seasons of the Heart,” and “Steal Away Home.” The Friends will serve refreshments. All are invited.

Dementia Caregiver Support Group - The Sixty Plus Program at Piedmont Fayette Hospital offers a monthly support group for the caregivers of older adults with memory loss. Designed to be both informational and supportive, the group will provide a confidential and welcoming atmosphere for family members and friends who want to learn more about dementia. The emotional, medical, legal and financial aspects of this condition will be discussed at meetings. The group is facilitated by a licensed social worker and is open to anyone in the community. Co-sponsored by Sixty Plus Older Adult Services and the Alzheimer’s Association. The group meets the Third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Piedmont Fayette Hospital, West entrance, 1267 Building Cancer Wellness Center, third floor.
