Mr. Olan Anthony "Tony" Beckom of Newnan, died December 26, 2012 at Piedmdont Newnan Hospital. He was born in Coweta County and was one of twelve children born to the late John Drewry "Drew" Beckom and Cora Smith Beckom.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Frances Lewis, Catherine Slaton, J. D. Beckom, Johnnie Mae Calhoun, W .L. Beckom, Henry Beckom, Rosie Carolyn Jennings, Alfred Beckom. He was also preceded in death by his step-son Jody Hannah.
Tony worked as a garage door installer for many years. When not working, he spent many happy days enjoying the outdoors and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Sammy Beckom and his wife Sheena and by his daughter Jan Beckom. His grandchildren are Christopher Beckom Tyler Backom and Madison Beckom. His surviving siblings are Gary Beckom, Maudene Benton and Annie Belle Smith. There are many step-children, step-grandchildren that he loved as his own.
Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street where the family will receive friends on Friday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Carl Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in The Calvary Baptist Church cemetery.
