A Senoia man sold marijuana to an undercover officer at the Kroger north in Peachtree City Thursday at 11:36 a.m.
Doug Dumas, 21, sold half an ounce of marijuana to an undercover member of the Fayette County Tactical Narcotics Team, said Detective Josh Shelton from the criminal investigation division of the Fayette County Sheriff’s office.
“The [TNT] is a multi jurisdictional drug task force,” he said. “They’re highly trained and good at what they do.”
Shelton said the force’s main job is “to seek out and apprehend” criminals selling drugs throughout Fayette County.
But the detective said he did not know why the officer had been stationed at the Kroger in the first place.
“Typically the undercover work they do stays undercover – even to me,” he said.
The state of Georgia considers the possession of an ounce or less of marijuana to be misdemeanor punishable with up to $1,000 in fines or one year in jail.
