Two men were killed when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree on Marion Boulevard on Sunday morning.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, when officers responded to an accident near the cul-de-sac on Marion Boulevard at approximately 12:49 a.m., they found a 2008 Honda Civic resting against a tree on private property.
The Civic was traveling east on Marion Boulevard when it continued past the end of the roadway, striking a mailbox before striking a tree. Julius West, 32, of Atlanta and Martin Parris, 31, of Fayetteville were transported to Fayette Piedmont Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
A third occupant, not the driver, was treated and released on scene. Evidence regarding the involvement of drugs or alcohol is pending at this time.
