Trey Walters wins MHS’s coveted Ryals Trophy

By Christopher Dunn

The McIntosh Chiefs gathered recently to celebrate their fantastic football season with their end of year banquet. As always, one of the highlights was the awarding of the Carl Ryals III Memorial Trophy to Trey Walters. Walters, a senior wide receiver, was given the ward not just for his play on the field, but for his hard work and dedication.
The trophy is awarded by the M Club, a group of McIntosh football alumni, in memory of Carl Ryals III, a former McIntosh football player who was tragically lost in a car accident. This is the thrid trophy awarded as part of the new yearly Chief tradition. Aaron Fenimore of the M Club, Bobby Wilkerson, and Carl's parents, Carl Ryals II and Lauren, were on hand to bestow the honors.
