Norman (Jack) Miles
Norman (Jack) Miles, of Fayetteville GA, died February 2, 2014, at the age of 84. He was employed in the banking industry in Smyrna, GA and retired to Jacksonville FL and Fayetteville GA.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bobbie Miles; four daughters, Susan (Dean) Bundrick of San Antonio TX, Jackie Thomason of Marietta GA, Leslie (Joe) Tyson of Smyrna GA, and Amy (Scott) Kowalski of Lynchburg VA; 11 grandchildren and six great grand children; one sister, Jo Ann Porter of Powder Springs GA.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Arnold.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday February 8, 2014, at Legacy Christian Church (1150 Rockaway Rd. Senoia GA). Pastor Roy Robersonwill officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at ALZ.org (tribute to Jack Miles) or 1-800-272-3900.

John Leonard
John Leonard of Peachtree City passed away on February 3, 2014 after a brief illness. He was 85 years old. He was 85 years old. He is survived by his wife of 60 years- Madeline, five children- John, Helen, Katherine, Michael and Peter, and five grandchildren- Anthony, Lisa, Christina, Andrew and James. 
He was a quiet and gentle man who never hesitated to be of help to anyone in need. Some of John’s many additional accomplishments include being a Korean War veteran, holding a PhD in Economics, and speaking Japanese. He was beloved and will be greatly missed.
We celebrated the life of John Leonard on Friday, February 7th at 10:30 at  Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City.

William “Bill” Henry Newman III
William “Bill” Henry Newman III, age 74, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on February 4, 2014. He was born in Atlanta, GA on February 8, 1939 to the late Bill and Mable Newman. He was raised in the Ben Hill area. He graduated from Brown High School. He was a US Army Veteran. He spent his entire life defending and protecting animals. He was the Director of the Fayette County Animal Shelter where he retired after 24 years of service. His beloved dog, BJ retired with him. William is survived by his son, William “Bill” Henry Newman IV; granddaughter, Ashley Newman; special friends, Marion Stephens of Peachtree City and Terry Peppers of Sharpsburg; and a cousin, Jacquelyn Phillips, Chesapeake, VA. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bowden officiating.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Donations may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter or Faith Baptist Church in Woodbury, GA in his memory.

Elizabeth Phillips Wiley
Elizabeth Phillips Wiley, 82, of Fayetteville, passed away February 5, 2014.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Lloyd Wiley and son Jerry Mauldin.  She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Russell) Joiner; grand-daughters Elizabeth (Benjamin) Urban, Amy (Matthew) Rouse, and Kimberley (Bradley) Hale; great-grandchildren Carter Hale, Ansley Hale, Catie Rouse and Jack Rouse; brother William B. (Eris) Phillips; sister Birdie Hall; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2014 at noon at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.  Pastor Claudia Robinson will officiate.  The burial will follow at Duncan Creek Congregational Church Cemetery, Buford.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service.

Gregory Steven Wilson
Gregory Steven Wilson, 50, of Fayetteville, passed away February 4, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his father William A. Wilson. He is survived by his daughter Lenox Wilson Tillman; mother June Wilson; sisters Kim Wilson Apodaca and Debra (James) Southwell; also nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Gerard Frits Jansen
Gerard Frits Jansen, 78, of Shiloh, GA, was born in Havana, Cuba December 16, 1935, and departed this life to be with the Lord on February 2, 2014. A memorial service will be held on February 8, 2014 at Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Peachtree Center Ave, Atlanta at 11 a.m.
Gerard was raised in Cuba and Venezuela until the age of 17. In 1954 he graduated from New York Military Academy and returned to Cuba. He enrolled at Georgia Tech and pursued a Degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon returning to Cuba to bury his father he was detained due to the Cuban Revolution. After witnessing countless horrific casualties of war he fled Cuba through the State Department leaving behind all of his belongings and entire financial inheritance. In 1959 he was able to return to the United States and was employed by Crown, Cork and Seal, Hapeville GA, where he worked until June of 1972. In July of 1972 he founded Gerard Jansen Wallpaper Services where he became an accomplished and sought after professional for over 40 years. He also served as a Registered and Certified Georgia Court Interpreter from 2003 to 2008. One of his proudest moments was obtaining his U.S. Citizenship in 1967. Gerard was an avid animal lover. He rescued and cared for numerous animals throughout his life. Gerard passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father Gerard Herman Theodore Jansen, Oldenzaal Holland and mother Juana Benita Febles y Lopez Jansen, Havana Cuba. He is survived by his wife Lydia Gail Jansen, Shiloh GA, daughters Maria Angelique Stoy, GA and Jennifer Jansen Bramlett of Jasper GA, nine stepchildren and 14 grandchildren.
Due to Gerard’s great love for animals the family request that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Georgia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or the Harris County, Georgia Humane Society in Gerard’s Name.

Lawrence Wright
Lawrence Wright, 95, of Senoia passed away February 6, 2014. He was a member of Alvaton Baptist Church. Mr. Wright retired from Ryder Freight Lines, transported munitions during WWII, was a Day-man at North Fayette Fire Station with the title of Honorary Captain and was also a HAM Radio operator with a call number of WA4GZP.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Wright; and sons Benny and J.R. Wright. He is survived by his children, Linda & Wilson Culbreth of Senoia, GA, Joe & Kay Wright of Ellijay, Brenda & Tom Rice of Jacksonville, FL, Joyce Storey of Inman, SC and Dr. Thomas & Donna Wright of Mobile, AL; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; brother Dow & Dena Wright of Jacksboro, TN; sister Lula Watson of Jacksboro, TN and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Reverend Byrom R. Martin and Reverend Jason T. Wright will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. A Graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

Gerald Smith
Ingram
Gerald Smith Ingram, 78, of Fayetteville, passed away February 7, 2014.  He served his country in the US Army.  He was employed by and then retired from Eastern Airlines and Fed Ex. 
He was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Ingram Roper and his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary F. Ingram of Fayetteville; daughter Cindy Ingram of Newnan; grandchildren Joel Roper of Honolulu, HI and Lindsey Roper of Brooklyn, NY; sister Patsy Hudmon of Valley, AL; brothers Kenneth (Pat) Ingram of Valley, AL and Allen (Genie) Ingram of Valley, AL; also nieces & nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Bannister
Kathryn Sue Bannister, 62, of Fayetteville, passed away February 7, 2014 after a long illness with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her father Wade Moon.  She is survived by her husband of 15 years Robert “Bob” L. Bannister; mother Eloise Moon of Hapeville; brother David Moon of Hapeville; 3 step-children; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; also nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, Fayetteville.  Dr. Randy Wood will officiate.  The burial will follow on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Friendship Church Cemetery, Washington, GA.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
