Four injured in deck collapse

A Wednesday morning deck collapse on Ebenezer Church Road send four men to an Atlanta trauma unit.
According to Emergency Management Agency Director Pete Nelms, the call came into the E-911 center at approximately 8:32 a.m., reporting a deck collapse at 242 Ebenezer Church Road, about 1.5 miles from Redwine Road. Units arrived on scene to discover that local contractors were working on the home itself, standing on the deck when it collapsed, also injuring the two men who were working beneath the deck.
All four men were transported to an Atlanta trauma unit to be treated for their injuries. Thus far, there is no known cause for the collapse but the matter is under investigation by the Fayette County Building Inspector.
