Norman Edwin Davis
Norman Edwin Davis, age 88, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away at home Tuesday, April 22, 2014. He was born March 29, 1926, in Hamden, New York. Norm was the son of Irving Horton Davis and Bertha Mae (Howard) Davis. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Norm proudly served our nation in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He even witnessed the signing of the Peace Treaty with Japan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sally Anne Davis and a brother, Roland Davis.
Norm is survived by his wife, Juanita Davis of the home; three daughters, Gloria DeVoe and husband Don of Blue Eye, Missouri, Connie Davis of Cleveland, Georgia, Shaheen Plunier and husband J.P. of Claremont, California; three sons, Danny Davis and wife Karen of Elmira, New York, Hamid Davis and wife Wing Shan of Ridgedale, Missouri, Mark Derr and wife Pam of Camden, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held with full military honors 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Pines Community Christian Church, Blue Eye, Missouri, with Pastor Kevin L. Green officiating. Scott Alan Cain
Scott Alan Cain, 43, of Griffin, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away April 20, 2014. He was ordained as a minister 16 years ago at Rivers Edge Community Church. He is survived by his wife Shannon Cain of Griffin; children, William, Thomas, Caitlyn, Jacob and Charlotte; mother Brenda (Danny) Carlile of McDonough; father Gerry (Elaine) Cain of Augusta; brother Billy (Heather) Dilbeck of Jenkinsburg and their son Michael; sister Kimberly Cain of Augusta; mother-in-law Karen McClellan of Woodland and a large, loving, extended family.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 25 at 3 p.m.at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Dr. John Hatcher will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
