Post 50 play continues in summer tradition

2014-07-18

By Christopher Dunn

American Legion Baseball is winding another thrilling summer and Peachtree City's Post 50 locked into battle with Post 32 from Newton County.
Post 50 got off to a red-hot start. Zach Brown was sharp in the early innings, pitching through the first two innings without allowing a baserunner, including striking out the side in the second. The bases would be loaded with no outs in the third, but Brown would allow just one run in the frame.
Their offense got started quickly as well. Michael O'Kelly came through with a two-out single to plate Josh Ange. Brown helped his own cause with a double to make it 2-0 after one inning.
Post 50 scored again off of Brown's bat with an infield single to make it 3-1 in the third.
Post 32 would shake off their early scuffles with a fourth inning explosion as they piled up eight runs.
