The owner of a Peachtree City tattoo parlor is in jail in Carroll County, facing charges of trafficking marijuana and manufacturing marijuana, officials said.
According to Lt. Jody Thomas of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force, Rodney Lee Pendleton was arrested Wednesday evening on a warrant issued by the West Georgia Drug Task Force -- a GBI operated drug task force out of Carroll County.
“We knew Pendleton had a business in Peachtree City, and it seemed more logical once we found evidence at his house to have Fayette County execute the arrest warrant,” said Chris Hosey, Commander of the West Georgia Drug Task Force and GBI Special Agent.
According to Hosey, WGDTF agents executed a search warrant at Pendleton’s house, at 114 Louise Lane in Villa Rica Wednesday evening.
Hosey said agents found marijuana plants in various stages of the indoor cultivating process inside the house.
“As soon as we found the evidence inside the house, we contacted Fayette County to serve the arrest warrant,” said Hosey.
“We appreciate their quick work. We had worked with them in the past, and knew exactly who to call to get the job done.”
According to Thomas, Fayette County agents went to Pendleton’s business in Peachtree City, Area 54 Tattoos, late Wednesday evening to execute the arrest warrant. As they pulled up to the store, the agents saw Pendleton leaving in his car, Thomas said.
“We had one of our uniformed officers conduct a traffic stop at Hwy 74 and Dogwood in Tyrone, and Pendleton was arrested,” said Thomas.
Pendleton was taken to the Fayette County Jail, but transported to Carroll County about 1:20 a.m. Thursday morning, Thomas said.
