Foreclosures in Fayette County have hit an all-time high.
With 192 foreclosures in early June, Fayette County kept its ranking at one of the Georgia counties with the highest numbers of foreclosures.
Prior to this, the highest number of foreclosures in Fayette County had been 185. That number dropped to 122 last month, and 154 the month prior, but jumped back up this month.
However, while Fayette County remains at the high end in Georgia, Peachtree City officials presented a power point presentation at budget workshops Monday night that showed the city among the lower end.
According to officials, there were 131 foreclosures in Peachtree City in the last 14 months.
And, as of June 1, the city had nine homes in foreclosure, officials said.
However, the commercial vacancy rate has gone from 7.1 percent in 2008 to 13 percent as of June 3, officials said.
Among the latest foreclosure notices is another notice for the home of professional boxer Evander Holyfield.
The property at 794 Evander Holyfield Hwy, is valued at $10 million, according to documents.
Another foreclosure notice was filed for Holyfield for property at 592/596 Westridge Road valued at $216,000.
