Carl was born in Carroll County, Georgia on December 16, 1935, and was preceded in death by his parents, William Linwood Evans and Ruby Brock Evans. Carl was the first person in his family to graduate from college and was a member of the first graduating class of Southern School of Pharmacy, now a part of Mercer University. Carl was owner of the Hapeville Drug Company and later the Village Pharmacy in Peachtree City, GA, the last independent pharmacy in Peachtree City. Carl loved his pharmacy and his customers. If a person could not afford their medication, he would gladly accept home grown vegetables or nothing at all. Carl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte (Butch) Chance Evans. Carl is also survived by his children and their families; Charlotte Evans Finnegan and husband Tom Finnegan and William (Bill) Douglas Evans and wife Alisa Tillett Evans. Carl has seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Evan, and Chase Stell, Andrew Finnegan, and Spencer, Morgan and Hayden Evans. Carl is also survived by his sister Mary Cain and goddaughters Linda Rinehart and Amy Riley. |
