Union County man charged with child molestation |

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in a child molestation case.
Investigators arrested William Jacob Nutt, 23, of Union County in north Georgia on Nov. 5 and charged him with statutory rape and aggravated child molestation for an incident that occured Nov. 1.
Investigator Brent Rowan said the case involves Nutt having sexual contact with a juvenile against her will at a residence on Plantation Road.
In other sheriff’s department news, investigators have nabbed a suspect in a series of thefts that took place over a nearly two-month period, Rowan said.
Warrants were issued Thursday for 18-year-old Sean Blankenship of Fayetteville.
Blankenship is charged with multiple counts of theft by taking. Rowan said the case involves Blankenship stealing numerous items between Aug. 30 and Oct. 29 from a residence on Gingercake Road.
Two men were also arrested by the sheriff’s department for an armed robery that ocurred Oct. 30 at a home on Hillside Drive.
The perpetrators hit the victim with a baseball bat the stole an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s vehicle. Both men are charged with armed robbery and more charges are pending, Rowan said.
