Events planned for Capt. Mike Pruitt who has cancer |

Capt. Mike Pruitt, a 27-year veteran of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, has been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and friends, colleagues and the Fayette community want to help.
Two events are planned -- one Jan. 26 and another on Feb. 16.
The Davidson Masonic Lodge No. 334 is sponsoring a benefit country breakfast for Pruitt.
"Capt. Pruitt has faithfully served Fayette County residents for over two decades and needs our prayers and help," said one supporter who works with Pruitt.
"Let us rally to his side with our support."
The breakfast will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. The cost is by donation.
“We will be serving eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, coffee, milk and fruit juice along with plenty of good fellowship.�
Everyone is invited.
The Lodge is located at 1957 Highway 92 South in Woolsey,Fayette County.
A Capt. Mike Pruitt Benefit ride is slated for Feb. 16.
The ride will start at Big Daddy’s Cycle Shop at 1850 Hwy 85 South in Fayetteville beginning at 11 a.m.
A free breakfast will be provided and all donations will be accepted.
Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with a raffle drawing at 10:30 a.m. before the ride begins at 11:00 a.m.
Come join in showing appreciation and support for Mike who has dedicated the past 27 years of his life serving the community of Fayette County.
After recovering from a kidney removal, Mike is now battling with lung cancer.
Please take this opportunity to help Mike as he has helped us throughout the years. This ride will be fully escorted by law enforcement. The cost is $10 per bike.
The raffle will be for a Custom motorcycle paint job, bike detailing, gift certificates, and other items.
All proceeds raised during this event will be contributed to Mike Pruitt for assisting with medical expenses.
The Benefit Ride will end at the Long Branch Restaurant at 692 N. Glynn Street in Fayetteville.
