 Kay Adams Jordan Kay Adams Jordan, 63, of Newnan, and a former resident of Atlanta and Peachtree City, died Sunday, January 3, 2010. She was born July 13, 1946 in Atlanta to the late William (Bill) George Adams and Mary Langley Adams. Her childhood home was in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.
Kay was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was also a charter member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church in Atlanta. She was an honor graduate of The University of Georgia and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Kay later became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for several CPA firms in Marietta. She was as a member of Jordan, Kinsey & Jordan CPAs, LLC in Newnan.
Her lifelong love of horses led her to establish Jordan Lake Farms in Newnan along with her husband. Jordan Lake Farms was the largest breeder and importer of Canadian Horses in the United States. Through her leadership, Jordan Lake Farms was a pioneer in introducing the breed to the United States, and was recognized internationally for its efforts.
Funeral services are Thursday, January 6, 2010, 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 576 Roscoe Rd, Newnan with Father Matt Greathouse officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The visitation is Wednesday evening between 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA.

She is survived by her husband, James B. Jordan of Newnan; daughters, Brooke Poteet Lopes of Kennesaw and Jennifer Poteet Ellis of Atlanta; grandson, Matthew William Reginald Lopes; sisters, Jane Adams Young and Pam Adams Barrett, both of Peachtree City; step-children, James B. Jordan, Jr. of Richmond, CA and Sarah A. Jordan of Acworth; nephews, Stephen Barrett and Jonathan Barrett of Smyrna; niece, Heather Barrett Downing of Peachtree City; and aunt, Dorothy Langley Crowson of Peachtree City. |
