Starr's Mill Men's Chorus On Tuesday, Jan. 26, Starr’s Mill High School’s Men’s Chorus, known as Camerata, will present a local pre-performance of the 25-minute program it has prepared for the Georgia Music Educators Association conference in Savannah.
The pre-performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 206 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City.
Camerata was chosen as one of only five high school choral programs in Georgia to perform at the Jan. 28-30 annual meeting of GMEA, the state affiliate of the Music Educators National Conference. The more than 40-member men’s chorus at Starr’s Mill has been rehearsing for this performance since August.
“These guys are preparing a wonderful program of men’s choral repertoire, ranging from opera choruses to the famous setting of the Ave Maria by Franz Biebl, said Starr’s Mill Choral Director John Odom.
For information on how you can become a corporate or individual sponsor of the Starr’s Mill Choral Department, contact Allison Balkovetz, abalkovetz@comcast.net, or Terri Hull, terrygirl62@msn.com, co-presidents of the Booster Club. Contributions of any size will be welcomed and most appreciated. |
