Irene Estelle Purcell, age 78, of Fayetteville died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Purcell and previous husbands Bill Hinkle and Sam Stanley. Mrs. Purcell was also preceded by two grandchildren. She is survived by her sons John Floyd Lee of Fayetteville and Keith W. and Lynn Lee of Brunswick; daughters Gail I Rowlett of Whitesburg, Janet M. Jackson of Jonesboro, Pamela E. and Buddy Wolff of Brunswick, and Christine R. and Johnny Brown of Brunswick; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Walter and Mary Turner of Fayetteville; and sister Kathleen and "J. E." Jones of Brooks.

Funeral Services were scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville First Baptist Church-Overton Chapel. She will lie in state at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family received friends at the Carl J. Mowell & son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m
