The Friends of the Peachtree City Library will sponsor a Poetry Workshop on April 28, beginning at 10 a.m. attendance is limited to adults, and to high school/home school students in grades 11 and 12. Advance registration is required. The registration fee of $10 pays for a box lunch and helps defray expenses. The Fourth Annual PTC Monopoly tournament will be held April 28 at the Towne Club in Peachtree City. This is an official Hasbro Monopoly tournament. Registration is now open. No food or drink shall be brought into the Towne Club. A box lunch which includes a ham or turkey sandwich, chips and a drink will be offered by the Towne Club for $5.95. The second annual Villages Jazz Festival will be held on April 28 at the Villages Amphitheatre in Fayetteville. This unique festival, sponsored by the Bennett’s Mill Middle School Band Boosters, will feature student and adult jazz ensembles from across Georgia. The event, which is free with a ticket, is open to the public. Tickets will be $5 on the day of show. The Senoia Area Historical Society (SAHS) is sponsoring a leisurely, 3-hour bicycle tour of historic Senoia for bicyclists of all ages and abilities. The tour takes place on April 28 starting at 9 a.m. It will begin and end at the SAHS Headquarters/Museum at 6 Couch Street in Senoia. Recommended donations are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13. All proceeds benefit the Senoia Area Historical Society. Donations are tax deductible. Helmets are required. National Heights Baptist Church will host "Shred Day" on May 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 103 Old Norton Road, Fayetteville. There will be no charge to the public for shredding, but donations will be accepted. Staples or paperclips do not have to be removed before shredding, but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks to avoid jamming the shredding machines. Coweta-Fayette Kids: Take On Summer! A "Healthy Kids Day" will be free and open to everyone April 28, at the Summit Family YMCA. With the theme of "Take On Summer!" the day will focus on kids four to 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. No registration is necessary and the first 200 children who complete the scavenger hunt will win a free t-shirt.
