The Whitewater Wildcats' string of comebacks ran out in the Final Four as they were eliminated by the Greenbrier Wolf Pack. The Wildcats traveled down to Evans to take on the Wolf Pack, dropping the best-of-three series in the finale on Tuesday night.
Whitewater jumped out to an early lead in game one. Alex Liquori went deep with a solo shot and Daniel Amos followed with a two-run bomb in a big third inning. Hunter Bening and Evan Gresham drove in runs in the fifth inning, but it was not enough to hold off Greenbrier in a 6-5 loss.
The Wildcats bounced back in game two thanks in part to a big game from John Mark Rhodes who cranked a two run home run. Liquori would go long again in the sixth inning of game two. Amos and Taylor Turner also drove in runs in the 8-4 win.
The deciding game three was hardly what the Wildcats were looking for as they were handled 15-5, ending their season.
