Mrs. Wilma Theone Halstead Giddings, age 92, of Peachtree City, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012.
She was born to Emma Gee Halstead & Martin Byron Halstead in Pontiac Township, Mich. She graduated from Pontiac High School in Pontiac, Mich. Wilma married George Albert Giddings on February 28, 1941 they were married for almost 70 years.
Mrs. Giddings was an avid golfer and active member of the Flat Creek Ladies Golf Association for over 25 years. She was also chairmen of the Flat Creek Couples Golf group for over 10 years. Prior to moving to Peachtree City Mrs. Giddings was active in the Ladies Golf groups in New Jersey for over 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Giddings (2010); son, Richard Lewis Giddings (2008).
She is survived by daughter, Carol A. Giddings of Peachtree City; son, George A. Giddings, Jr. and wife, Frith of New Zealand; daughter-in-law, Merilee Giddings of Peachtree City; grandson, Derek L. Giddings, and his wife Pam, of Alpharetta; great-granddaughters, Hanna and Claire Giddings; granddaughter, Kirsten G. Beard and her husband, Bryan of Dunwoody; great-granddaughters, Sarah and Ashlyn Beard.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to the Fayette County Humane Society at PO Box 244, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214.
A small family memorial will take place at a later date.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home & Crematory, Peachtree City.
