Sandy Creek’s Shaq Wiggins will participate in the Gridiron Kings games before embarking on his senior season.
(Staff Pho Shaq Wiggins is racking up the accolades even before his senior season starts. Wiggins, a cornerback for the Sandy Creek Patriots, has been selected for the Gridiron Kings games.
ESPNHS is compiling the top high school football players in the nation to take part in the Gridiron Kings games. The ESPNH Games Presented by GNC take place July 27-29 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.
In all, 64 of the nation's top high school football players will compete in 7-on-7 games, skill challenges, and performance training. So far 38 players have been selected, including Wiggins.
The top quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties are brought together from July 27-29 and divided into teams based on their region (West, Southwest, Southeast, and Midwest). For the fourth year the event, in addition to several other ESPNHS Games, will be televised by ESPNU. The games will air on ESPNU on Sunday, July 29 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Wiggins is considered one of the top recruits in the state of Georgia. He is currently verbally committed to attend the University of Georgia while still being pursued by a who's who of the nation's top football programs.
When he returns from the games, Wiggins will be diving into preparation for the upcoming season with the Sandy Creek Patriots. The Patriots will be leaning heavily on the senior as they look to avenge the playoff loss that ended their two-year plus winning streak. |
